The Cinnamons
Generation Three

In the Spring  (October/ November)of 2009 the  Gen 2 cats are now adult.

#1.      Rosimorn Edward Bear ( Gen2) - Chocolate Exotic

Eddie carries cinnamon and dilute. but not CP. Possibly homozygous for SH. Like my other chocolates he has been slow to mature, but at a year old is showing definite Exotic type This is the clown of the family, always ready for a game.

W Litter born January 26th 2010

 Sire: R. Edward Bear(Gen2)                                     Dam:  R. Xtravaganza
         (chocolate Exotic)                                          ( lilaccream/white Persian)

Five kittens, all shorthair, all bicolours.  By DNA testing, all 4 boys carried cinnamon, the only girl did not. :-(

Choc/W boy(staying)    Lilac/W boy             Cream/W boy          Lilac/W boy             Choc/W girl

Type on all five kittens was quite variable. The best head type was the chocolate bicolour boy, but the three dilute bicolours were much chunkier in body type and had really thick plush coats. The cream boy's nose was slightly off centre, although improving as he matured.  I would have preferred a girl to keep, but the one and only girl proved to be the ONLY one that didn't carry cinnamon. The overall best in the litter was the chocolate/W boy, so the decision was an easy one. I hope his ears get smaller as he grows!

ROSIMORN WILLIE WONKA (Gen3) Chocolate Bicolour Exotic - aged 3 months below.Carries dilute, longhair and cinnamon. Does NOT carry CP.  Wonderful head type with gorgeous big eyes with great depth of colour coming in, but a little long in body and tail at this stage. Ears are getting better.

WILLIE - aged just over 7 months below. round and chunky with wonderful eye shape and colour. A rich chesnut shade of chocolate. I have found that chocolates that carry cinnamon seem to have a very rich depth of colour

#2. Rosimorn Oh So Ticked Off (Gen2) - BlackTicked Tabby Exotic

Possum carries cinnamon and dilute. but not CP. She has picked up the ticked pattern tabby gene carried through from the Abyssinian behind the original Mandalay. Fortunately this is a dominant gene hence will be easy to lose if/when necessary in the future.

   "B" Litter born April 12th 2010

Sire: Ch R. Manhatten Moonrise               Dam: R. Oh So Ticked Off ( Gen2)
(Black Bicolour Persian)                            ( Brown ticked Tabby Exotic)

Three kittens:
Black tabby/white boy(Exo)  Black tabby/white girl (Exo)    Choc/white girl (Pers)

The best type was the brown tabby/white girl but unfortunately DNA testing showed that she carried chocolate, and not cinnamon. The chocolate/white girl is a cinnamon carrier  Because of the way the genetics of black/choc/cinn work, any chocolate from this mating HAS to be a cinnamon carrier and didn't need DNA testing.  However,  I didn't want a longhair in the programme so I didn't keep her.

I decided to do another mating with Possum. - See below.

#3. Gr Ch Rosimorn Fancy That (Gen2) -Lilac Exotic

Fancy had a very successful show year as a young adult, gaining her GR Ch and mutiple Breeders Awards.  When planning her mating, I was very excited looking forward to  what she would produce.

   "F" Litter born September 9th 2010

Sire: Ch R. Manhatten Moonrise                       Dam: GC R. Fancy That ( Gen2)
(Black Bicolour Persian)                                  ( Lilac Exotic)

Unfortunately her pregnancy ended in a caesarian section, and a spay There were two kittens born. A chocolate SH boy and a black LH girl. Photos below at 4 weeks of age.

I would have preferred to have kept the chocolate shorthair boy, but DNA testing showed that only the girl carried cinnamon, so ROSIMORN FANCY'S LEGACY (Gen3) ( Lacey) joined the cinnamon programme, despite being a longhair! She was a really odd looking kitten with a big head out of proportion to the rest of her, and having a pronounced fever coat from the birth stress, so she looked as though she was a high grade black smoke.
But, by the time she was 5 months old, the coat had darkened and was starting to come right, eye colour was developing well, body and head were in much better balance and her body  was showing promise of a cobby sturdy substance .

However, Lacey never managed to get pregnant, and was retired to a pet home

Fancy's litter sister Cissy also needed a caesarian section, with no live kittens.
so this particular breeding line came to an end.

#4. Rosimorn Oh So Ticked Off (Gen2) - Brown Ticked Tabby Exotic

A second mating with Possum was done in the Spring of 2010

Admat BJ Cabernet (Imp Aust)                        Rosimorn Oh So Ticked Off (Gen2)
Chocolate Persian                                           Brown ticked Tabby exotic

Two female longhair (Persian) kittens born October 23rd 2010
Black ticked tabby                Chocolate Ticked tabby

The chocolate girl carried cinnamon, so, ROSIMORN HOW TRICKY IS THAT ("Holly")  went to another breeder to expand the genetics of the cinnamon programme.
